
DEARBORN–-The automotive e-publication Global Auto Mobility announced the recipient of the first Global Auto Mobility Industry Innovation Award. The inaugural award recognition goes to David E. Cole, PhD., Chair Emeritus of the Center for Automotive Research.
Cole has a long and distinguished career that ranges from his time at the University of Michigan Engineering School, to his years leading and growing the Center for Automotive Research, and his time launching and leading Auto Harvest. Cole’s knowledge of the automotive industry has made him a leader and mentor to many, as well as a person possessing a unique wealth of industry institutional knowledge. Long–time reporter and Cole associate Mike Brennan refers to him as “an encyclopedia of the history of the auto industry.”
“Dr. Cole has been a key innovator and leader in an industry that has seen great change over the decades. Through it all, David has built a reputation as a creative, inventive problem solver,” said Dan Keelan, Global Auto Mobility publisher, in announcing the award.
Cole, will be honored with this award in person on Wednesday, May 24 at the Powering Electric Vehicles business breakfast at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, .
