ASM to hear from renowned metallurgist for annual Woodside Lecture

SOUTHFIELD–ASM International’s Detroit Chapter will meet Tuesday, May 8, for the Woodside Lecture.

The speaker is Thomas Prucha, president of Rochester-based MetalMorphosis LLC, a consulting firm in metalcastnig and metal working processes. His topic: “Metalmorphosis — Change and Transition.”

Prucha is also editor in chief of the International Journal of Metalcastikng and has been working in metallurgy since 1973. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in metallurgical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The lecture is named after William Park Woodside, founder of ASM.

The event will be held in the Gazebo Banquet Center, 31104 Mound Road in Warren. It opens with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:309 p.m., and chapter announcements and the speaker at 7 p.m.
