LAGM also announced that South Haven Charter Township has become the latest municipality to join the PACE program. A total of 53 cities, townships and counties, representing more than 74 percent of the state’s population, now participate in the program.
In PACE financing, energy efficiency and renewable energy building improvements can be financed over a time frame of up to 30 years as a tax assessment that can be transferred to new owners of the property. That allows energy improvements to be made that have paybacks longer than the typical building improvement or home improvement loan.
