New CEO at software firm eoStar

HOLLAND—The Holland-based route management software developer eoStar has appointed Chris Timmer as CEO. Timmer will also join the company’s board of directors.

Timmer has more than 20 years in executive leadership. Timmer was previously chief revenue officer at BluJay Solutions, a West Michigan logistics software developer founded as Lean Logistics that was recently acquired by a Texas firm.

“Chris is a proven leader with strong technical skills and great business insights,” said eoStar president Paul Rutherford. “He has a remarkable ability to see what’s going on in the market, to sense opportunity, and to really understand how we come together to execute against those opportunities in a collaborative way.”

The company also named Sumit Sakalle as its CTO. Sakalle joins eoStar with more than 22 years of progressive engineering leadership, including globally distributed architecture, development, quality control, user experience, and machine learning programming teams.

EoStar, formally known as Rutherford & Associates and founded in 1986. provides software for direct store delivery distributors, including route accounting, warehouse management, voice picking, forecasting, and mobile sales capabilities. The eoStar platform is now serving over 14,000 users in beverage, wine & spirits, and food service.
