ALLENDALE—QST Consultations Ltd. has announced that it has changed its name to Abond CRO Inc., launching the new brand through a new website and participation at participation at the Summit for Clinical Operations Executives, Feb.18-21 in Orlando. Fla.
Since its founding in 1974 by John Quiring, QST Consultations has built partnerships with pharmaceutical and medical device companies by providing scientifically sound clinical trial evaluations.
“Over the years we have had the opportunity to establish true bonds with our clients,” said Quiring, who is now chief science officer of Abond. “They’ve found our work to be comprehensive and our interactions to be responsive, trustworthy, and respectful. In recent years, we’ve expanded our services beyond data and statistics to become a full service CRO. We simply outgrew our name.”
In September of 2018, QST named Phil Doren as CEO. Under his direction the company solidified its services offering and engaged Raleigh, N.C.-based Forma Life Science Marketing to guide company leadership through the rebrand and name change.
“Working with Forma helped us find a path forward,” said Doren. “Forma reached out to every employee and several of our customers during their research and discovery phase. Those activities revealed one consistent piece of feedback that’s embodied by the time-tested saying, ‘our word is our bond.’
“Customer interviews revealed a deep level of trust and respect between us and our sponsors,” continued Doren. “With our new name—Abond—and our commitment to partnering with our customers, we reinforce what has become a hallmark of our work for the past 45 years—honesty, focus, and a willingness to assume responsibility.”
Abond’s website is being updated to reflect the new name, visual approach and to emphasize the company’s full-service CRO offerings. In addition, key Abond staff are attending S.C.O.P.E. in two weeks to publicly roll out the new brand and engage sponsors from across the country.
“We knew that it was time to clearly show how our focus has changed toward more service offerings, therapeutic areas, and technologies,” Quiring said. “When change like this comes to an organization you do not want to lose your character and what worked well. Abond tells our story in just one word.”
Abond offers clinical trial consulting, operations, data management, and statistical analysis. More at www.abondcro.com.
