
SOUTHFIELD—The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) Detroit Section will hold an all-day education seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the Ford Research and Innovation Center in Dearborn.
The theme of the event is “Current Topics in Tribology” covering aspects of electrification, thermal spray and thin film coatings, which are relevant to automotive industry today.
The event offers an opportunity for those involved in the practice of lubrication systems and product development to become familiar with tribology basics that are addressed on a daily basis. People working tribology, lubrication system engineering, and formulations, including chemists, sales personnel, production supervisors, maintenance personnel, lubrication engineers, technical service representatives, process and design engineers, and component and system design engineers, should plan on attending.
The event begins with continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and the seminar will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Ford Research and Innovation Center is located at 2201 Village Road in Dearborn.
The cost of the event is $125 for STLE members, $225 for non-members, and $275 for the program and STLE membership. There is also a $50 rate for full-time students.
