Cybersecurity, Buy Michigan, startup cash and more on July 29 M2 TechCast

ROYAL OAK—A celebration of buying Michigan goods, funding for startups, the latest cybersecurity threats and a visit from Michigan’s lieutenant governor highlight the Monday, July 29 edition of the M2 TechCast podcast, now with video.

The show begins at 2 p.m. Eastern time with Lisa Diggs, who will give viewers an update on her BuyMichigan Now Festival, scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Aug. 2-4, in Northville.

At 2:15 p.m., Tember Shea of Invest Detroit Ventures will talk about the Accelerate Michigan competition, in which startups will pitch their business ideas for an opportunity to win up to $1 million in prizes. Shea will also discuss Hacker Fellows, a one-year fellowship programs for hackers, coders, and startup junkies to boost their salary and land jobs with early stage tech companies in Michigan.

At 2:30, cybersecurity expert Richard Steinnon will update viewers on the latest cybersecurity threats, and discuss an upcoming book tour.

The show wraps up with a visit by Skype video at 2:45 with Michigan Lt. Gov.
