Novi firm to demo smart police car at ITS meet

NOVI—Danlaw Inc., the Novi-based connected vehicle technology developer, will demonstrate new public safety vehicle technology at the Intelligent Transportation Society of America’s 28th Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. on June 4-7.

Danlaw collaborated with St. Louis, Mo.-based Code 3, a provider of light and sound solutions for emergency vehicles, to develop the industry’s first fully integrated V2X system for emergency and utility vehicles. Danlaw’s V2X antenna has been integrated into an emergency vehicle lighting module.

When the vehicle’s emergency lights and siren are switched on, the V2X system will communicate with roadside equipment to request that traffic lights be pre-empted to provide safe passage for the emergency vehicle. This feature will temporarily stop cross-traffic so that first responders can quickly maneuver through intersections that may otherwise be congested. Our system is designed to improve safety on the road, reduce emergency response times, and save lives.

Danlaw and Code 3 will demonstrate the technology at ITS America Booth 207. Click here to request a scheduled demonstration. For more information about Danlaw and its connected vehicle products and services, visit www.danlawinc.com.
