IIoT, cybersecurity, database tech, tech for disabled on today’s M2 TechCast

ROYAL OAK — The Monday, Feb. 25 edition of the M2 TechCast will feature news about the Industrial Internet of Things, the latest in cybersecurity news, database technology and technology to help the disabled.

The show runs from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern time at www.podcastdetroit.com. Podcasts of earlier shows are also available there, as well as on other podcast distribution web sites, from Soundcloud to iTunes. It’s co-hosted by veteran Michigan technology journalists Mike Brennan, owner of the tech news web site MITechNews.com, and Matt Roush, director of media relations at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield.

The show will begin with Richard Murray, chief product officer at Troy-based Plex Systems, speaking about a survey that shows fully a third of maufacturers are already using Industrial Internet of Things technologies.

Then, former Michgian Chief Information Security Officer Dan Lohrmann, now an independent cybersecurity consultant with a company called Security Mentor, will discuss how government and business still aren’t taking cyberthreats seriously enough.

Gail Bernard, sales and marketing manager of the Southfield-based IT services firm Cybernoor, then joins the show to provide customer success stories.

The show wraps up with Gina Adams, founder of Warelogie, talking about her company’s latest products, disability-friendly magnetic buttons. Warelogie is a client of the Centrepolis Accelerator, a businses accelerator managed by Lawrence Tech and the city of Southfield.
