Transportation electrification conference coming to Novi in June

DETROIT — ITEC2019, the IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, will be held June 19-21 at the Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi.

The event, now in its eighth year, is a not-for-profit electric vehicle and renewable energy conference sponsored by IEEE.

The conference will feature 12 keynote speakers. Confirmed so far are Stephen Boyd, program manager of the vehicle technologies office, U.S. Deaprtment of Energy; Richard Hellinga, manager of BorgWarner’s Waterloo Technical Center; Hao Huang, technical chief, GE Aviation; Eric Kultgren, principle engineeri, General Dynamics Electric Boat; Morris Kesler, CTO, WITricity; Joachim Kupe, head of systems engineering, head of research and development, mild hybrid drives and battery segments, North America, Continental; Carl Kutch, chief technologiest for critical infrastructure security and resiliance, Idaho National Laboratory; John Miller, technical advisor, Momentum Dynamics Corp.; Annett Muetze, professor, Graz University of Technology; Anand Sankaran, director, electrified powertrain engineering, Ford Motor Co.; and Igor Stamenkovic, global technology director, Eaton Corp.

There will also be educational short courses that qualify for continuing education credits with IEEE, additional tutorials, networking events, breakout panel discussions, a poster session, technical sessions, and an industry expo.

Early bird registration ends May 1. Pass options range from $125 to $795.
