DETROIT — AT&T Inc. announced it had upgraded its wireless network on nearly a dozen sites in four southeast Michigan counties, adding greater capacity and speeds.
Upgrades were made in the following communities:
* Washtenaw County: Manchester, east of Parr Road, north of Geiske Road
* Macomb County: Eastpointe, north of East Eight Mile Road, west of Gratiot Avenue
* Oakland County: Troy, between Stephenson Highway and I-75, south of east Maple Road; Birmingham, near East Brown Street and South Old Woodward Avenue; Auburn Hills, at University Drive and north Squirrel Road; Clarkston, near I-75, north of Flemings Lake Road
* Wayne County: Detroit (three sites), at John R. and West Alexandrine Street; south of Holden Street, east of Trumbull Avenue; and Greenview Road, north of Ford Road; Livonia, west of I-96, east of Saint Joe’s Drive; Dearborn, at Morley Avenue and Monroe Street
These upgrades are like adding more lanes to a highway carrying traffic from a customer’s device to the cell tower, resulting in faster speeds.
