Barr Engineering names new VP in Ann Arbor office

MINNEAPOLIS — Barr Engineering Co., the Minneapolis-based engineering firm, named Tom Boom of the company’s Ann Arbor office vice president and firm principal.

Boom is a senior environmental engineer who has more than 17 years of experience with the assessment, design, and implementation of complex engineering projects involving risk management, site assessment, feasability studies, design, permitting, and monitoring.

Barr is an employee-owned engineering and environmental consulting firm that works with public and private clients who develop, manage, process, and restore natural resources.

The company employs more than 750 people and has offices in Minneapolis, Duluth, and Hibbing, Minn., Bismarck, N.D., Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids, Mich., Jefferson City, Mo., Salt Lake City, Utah, and Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
