ESD Solid Waste Conference coming up April 11

SOUTHFIELD – The Engineering Society of Detroit’s annual Solid Waste Technical Conference will be held Wednesday, April 11 at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center, 55 S. Harrison Road in East Lansing.

Now in its 28th year, the Solid Waste Technical Conference focuses on cutting-edge technological innovations related to the solid waste industry.  The one-day conference features experts in waste management practices to help attendees learn about issues related to policy, new technologies, regulatory updates and what the future holds for the industry.

The event begins with registration and continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m., with the program running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Presentations include information on tax law changes, regulations, legal updates, emerging contaminant issues, demographic and labor market trends, renewable energy development in landfills, and more.

There will also be Training Day on Thursday, April 12, featuring information and demonstrations of landfill sensors, discharge measurement, advanced liners, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in landfills, and more.

Registration costs for the event ranges from $75 for a one-day student rate to $525 for both days for a non-member of participating organizations.
