LANSING — Arconic Inc., a New York City-based provider of lightweight metals engineering and manufacturing, plans to expand its operations in Whitehall, the Michigan Economic Development Corp. announced.
Arconic will receive a $400,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant to support a $10 million expansion expected to create 38 jobs. The MEDC said Michigan was chosen over competing sites in multiple states.
Arconic’s Whitehall plant manufactures investment casting super-alloy airfoils for aerospace engines and industrial gas turbines. The company plans to invest in high-tech machinery and equipment in Whitehall. The city of Whitehall is waiving permitting fees in support of the project.
