SOUTHFIELD — Engineers and other technical professionals seeking continuing education credits — or simply to broaden their expertise — are invited to attend two-hour educational courses this month at The Engineering Society of Detroit.
Remaining courses in the fall series are:
Monday, Oct. 23: Mass Reduction and Light Weighting. Presented by Dinesh C. Seksaria, PE, principal and consultant at Dinesh C. Seksaria PE PLLC, this presentation will provide an overview of the underlying science involved in the currently popular subject of “light-weighting” of load-bearing components.
Wednesday, Oct. 25: Building Water Health. Presented by Dann Holmes, business development manager, Andrew Ward, senior technical reviewer, and Allison Yee, senior account manager, all at NSF International. this program will cover NSF’s landmark initiatives, currently under development, to address water safety in building systems.
Monday, Oct. 30: Everyday Acoustics and Noise Issues, presented by Pranab Saha, PhD, PE, INCE Bd Cert, FESD, founder and principal consultant of Kolano and Saha Engineers Inc., this program will cover the field of acoustics and noise in engineering.
All classes are held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at ESD Headquarters, 20700 Civic Center Drive, Suite 450, Southfield, MI 48076. The courses are $50 for ESD members, $75 for non-members, $25 for students, and free for ESD Fellows. A certificate of continuing education will be provided at the conclusion of each course.
