
LANSING — The Michigan Environmental Council, the Office of the Great Lakes Coastal Management Program and partner organizations are organizing the first-ever Freshwater Dunes Summit May 7 and 8 at the Muskegon Harbor Holiday Inn.

The event will bring expert speakers and outdoor adventurers to Muskegon to explore how to both enjoy and protect the region’s rare coastal dunes. The agenda provides an exciting mix of science and adventure with opportunities to paddle, cycle, or run; enjoy coastal Muskegon; explore the dunes on a day hike; and hear engaging presentations on dune stewardship, research, and recreation from conservation experts.
