Saha To Be Honored At ESD Gold Award Reception March 29

SOUTHFIELD – The Engineering Society of Detroit’s Affiliate Council will present its highest award, the Gold Award, to Pranab Saha, Ph.D., P.E., FESD, at its annual Gold Award Reception and Recognition event, on Wednesday, March 29.

The event will take place at Henry Ford College’s Andrew A. Mazzara Conference Center, 5101 Evergreen Road in Dearborn. The reception begins at 6 p.m. and the awards program at 7:30.

Saha is principal and co-founder at Kolano & Saha Engineers Inc. in Waterford Township, where he supervises and directs all activities related to automotive and product noise and vibration issues. He has more than 30 years of experience in automotive acoustics and is board certified in noise control engineering by the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE)/USA.

A native of India, Saha has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Calcutta, an M.S. in engineering sciences from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, with a specialty in acoustics, from the Georgia Institute of Technology.Before founding his own firm, he worked for engineering firms in Michigan and California.

He has provided engineering services, both nationally and internationally, to numerous automotive companies and their suppliers in various areas of interior noise controls, including projects related to advanced noise control materials and understanding customer satisfaction requirements. He routinely provides seminars on automotive noise control specially geared for designers, scientists, engineers, and manufacturers.

He is a registered Professional Engineer in Michigan, a master instructor for SAE International, and a Fellow of The Engineering Society of Detroit. He has numerous professional awards from the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers, the American Consulting Engineers Council, and SAE International. He has published and presented numerous technical papers in the publications of SAE, Sound and Vibration Magazine, INCE, IEEE, ASME, and ASA.
