ESD sets fall P.E. courses for engineers

SOUTHFIELD — Engineers who have passed the state Fundamentals of Engineering examination are invited to take the next step in their careers — the PE, or Professional Engineer, designation — with the help of The Engineering Society of Detroit.

ESD’s highly regarded PE (Part II) review course will be held Saturdays this late summer and early fall at ESD headquarters in Southfield. The courses begin Aug. 27 and conclude Oct. 8.

Civil engineering courses will be taught from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while the mechanical, environmental and electrical power engineering courses will be taught from 1 to 5 p.m.

The state exam date for the PE designation will be held Oct. 28 and again on April 21.

Since 1941, ESD has successfully prepared thousands of candidates for the PE licensing exam in a variety of disciplines.

The Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) Part II Review Course consists of 28 hours of instruction, on seven half-day Saturday sessions, focusing on problem solving techniques needed for the Professional Engineers (Part II) exam.

For more information including course fees and how to register for the PE Review Course, visit www.esd.org, or contact Fran Mahoney at (248) 353-0735, ext. 116. Registrations received by July 29 receive $25 off.
