
EAST LANSING — The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Michigan State University will hold its annual ChEMS Research Forum on Thursday, May 12.
The Forum will be held at the Huntington Club at Spartan Stadium on the campus of Michigan State University.
The 13th Annual ChEMS Research Forum will showcase Departmental research advances in the areas of energy and sustainability; nanotechnology and materials; and biotechnology and biomedical engineering.
The one-day program will feature plenary speakers, posters and oral presentations describing the latest department research. Registration, lunch, and refreshments are complimentary.
Featured speakers include Matthew Neurock, Shell Professor of Chemical Engineering & Materials Science at the Uiversity of Minnesota; Deborah D.F. Mielewski, senior tech leader on materials sustainability at Ford Motor Co.’s Research and Innovation Center; Scott Calabrese Barton, Associate Professor Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at MSU; and Andre Y. Lee, Associate Professor Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at MSU.
The event is sponsored by Chemtura Corp., a Philadelphia chemical maker, and Midland-based Dow Chemical Co. and Dow Corning Corp.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with registration and coffee, with opening remarks at 9 a.m. from Donald Morelli, ChEMS chair at MSU. The event ends with networking and refreshments at 4:15 p.m.
