Troy's Toggled Adds Another Patent Licensee

TROY — Toggled, the LED lighting developer and subsidiary of Troy-based Altair Engineering, added a Chinese lighting manufacturer to its list of patent licensees.

The new licensee is Mega Lighting, the LED lighting subsidiary of Zhejiang, China-based Yankon Group Co. Ltd. The new venture was founded by Yankon in 2015 with a focus on the U.S. LED lighting business.

As a licensee, Mega now has access to the Toggled portfolio of more than 75 patents, mostly related to LED replacements for fluorescent tubes, along with communication and control technology related to the role of LED lighting in the growing Internet of Things marketplace.

Toggled president Dave Simon said in a press release: “As the energy efficient lighting industry continues to grow, the combination of manufacturing excellence with advanced technology will offer consumers an ever-expanding range of performance and value.”
