Ann Arbor’s Duo Security Opens London Office

ANN ARBOR — Duo Security, the Ann Arbor-based access security technology provider, announced the opening of an office in London as part of an expansion into Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Leading operations for the region will be is Henry Seddon, who has been named vice president of the EMEA region. Seddon brings a wealth of industry experience and expertise, from a career in technology spanning 20 years. His initial focus will be to build a highly skilled team for the London office to support Duo Security customers across the region.

Duo has developed a cloud-based two-factor user authentication system that is being used by organizations that need to ensure that their users are who they say they are in order to protect their corporate networks.

Duo points to a 2015 Verizon data breach analysis showing that 95 percent of breaches ocur as a result of compromised user credentials as proof of the need for its technology, which was launched in 2010.

Duo Security has nearly 300 customers in the United Kingdom across a range of industries, including online businesses, retailers, educational institutions, healthcare providers, legal firms, and enterprises — such as the makers of Candy Crush, Facebook, Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, FireEye, the University of York, Softwire and Yelp.

Duo Security founder and CEO Dug Song said Seddon “has a proven track record at companies such as Siemens and QlikTech and his experience will be a huge asset for Duo Security as we focus on growing our footprint across EMEA.
