DETROIT — The Detroit-based information technology services provider VisionIT Monday announced the opening of its new IT Innovation Center in Detroit.
The 7,000-square-foot Innovation Center is part of VisionIT’s 30,000-square-foot headquarters space in the New Center One building in midtown Detroit, 3031 W. Grand Boulevard.
The company says it has already hired 25 new employees to staff the center, and plans to hire another 150 over the next 18 months. Vision IT now has 1,100 employees.
The company says the new center is intended to allow its IT consultants to train and collaborate on the latest technologies, while creating a technology community in support of employees, partners, and customers, as well as other user groups and community initiatives in and around Detroit.
“We are passionate about staying on the cusp of the newest technologies and products, so you can imagine how excited we are to take this commitment to a whole new level,” said David Segura, CEO of VisionIT. “We believe we have an obligation to our customers across the globe to drive business success by creating the most technically talented teams in the industry, and to pioneer game-changing solutions with our customers and partners.”
The Innovation Center will include both on-site and off-site employees, working in a true virtual and collaborative environment.
“Our goal with this game-changing Innovation Center is to provide a physical and virtual environment to facilitate employee, partner and company growth through collaboration, training, marketing and software development activities,” said Paul Toenjes, senior vice president of VisionIT. “We believe this center will be a crown jewel in Detroit that global businesses can work with to innovate and capitalize on the latest and emerging technologies.
