Energy Business Council Sets Fall Schedule

LANSING — The Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council has scheduled several meetings around the state on a variety of advanced energy topics.

First is tomorrow — Wednesday, Sept. 30 — from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Landmark Inn, 230 N. Front St. in Marquette. An advanced energy business networking meeting will discuss the Upper Peninsula’s growing cleantech economy. Featured speakers will be Dan Radomski, vice president of industry and venture development at NextEnergy, the state of Michigan’s advanced energy industry accelerator; Dan Scripps, president of the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council; and Rich VanderVeen, President of Mackinaw Power. Appetizers and drinks will be provided. The meeting is free for Michigan EIBC members and $25 for non-members. Register at this link. 

Next, the Michigan EIBC is hosting the Michigan Energy Forum’s monthly meeting at Ann Arbor Spark on Thursday, October 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. The topic is waste to energy, and Ian Stines of General Motors is the moderator. This meeting is free to attend; snacks will be provided. Register at this link. 

On Thursday, Oct. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, the Michigan EIBC is hosting a West Michigan Advanced Energy Business Networking Meeting at Varnum Law Offices in Grand Rapids. The meeting topic is Grand Rapids energy initiatives and the speaker will be Haris Alibasic, energy and sustainability director for the city of Grand Rapids. Lunch will be provided. The meeting is free for Michigan EIBC members and $25 for non-members. Register at this link. 

Finally, on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m., Michigan EIBC is hosting the Michigan Energy Forum’s November meeting at Ann Arbor Spark. The topic for this meeting will be financing energy efficiency in communities and the moderator is Michael DiRamio of ICF International. The meeting is free to attend and snacks will be provided. Michigan EIBC will give a policy update each of the meetings and there will be time for networking.

And save the date of Monday, Jan. 25, when EIBC will host an all-day Corporate Energy Purchasers Conference at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit. Registration will open soon.
