LIVONIA — NH Learning Solutions said Thursday it had purchased “substantially all of the assets” of CompuWorks Systems Inc., a Boston-based IT training company.
Livonia-based NH Learning Solutions provides training courses in information technology, desktop applications, project management and business skills. It operates 17 New Horizons locations throughout the Great Lakes and Northeast regions of the United States.
CompuWorks, headquartered in downtown Boston and a former “Microsoft Partner of the Year” award winner, was involved in the IT training industry for more than 25 years. NH officials say CompuWorks’ instructor-led training and short-session video library “perfectly complements the current product lineup offered by NH.”
“CompuWorks has been a respected member of the IT Training industry for many years, which makes this a very exciting acquisition,” said Mark McManus, NH CEO. “The content that CompuWorks will introduce into our product catalog is diverse and offers our customers greater flexibility in solving their business problems. We look forward to providing CompuWorks clients the largest Guaranteed-to-Run schedule in the industry, taught by the industry’s best instructors.”

NH Learning Solutions will add the former CompuWorks center in Woburn, Mass., to its list of locations in the Great Lakes and Northeast regions. The Woburn, Mass., office will join NH Learning Solutions’ new downtown Detroit location that recently opened in July 2015, as well as a new location in Long Island, N.Y., scheduled to open fall 2015.
