MCity Connected, Autonomous Vehicle Test Center — A Photo Gallery

ANN ARBOR — Amid much fanfare, the University of Michigan – Michigan Department of Transportation MCity connected and autonomous vehicle test center opened Monday on UM’s North Campus in Ann Arbor.

More than 600 people toured Mcity’s simulated freeways, highways, city streets, downtowns and bridges — there’s even a complicated traffic circle.

Mcity will offer highway researchers and the private sector a neutral ground to test their advanced vehicle technologies in the real world — year-around, in all four seasons.

Here are pictures from Monday’s opening event.
