Quicken, Secure-24 Make Top IT Workplaces List

DETROIT — Quicken Loans Inc. is once again the No. 1 place to work in information technology among large companies, according to Computerworld magazine.

And the Southfield-based managed services provider Secure-24 has again made the list among small companies, earning the No. 4 spot.

For Quicken, it’s the sixth time in 11 years the nation’s second largest retail mortgage lender and largest FHA loan originator has been named No. 1 in the benchmark employee survey, making Quicken Loans the winningest company in the list’s history.

Computerworld’s “100 Best Places to Work in IT” list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories including benefits, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT professionals, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.

Quicken’s IT operation, now 1,300 employees strong, has quadrupled in size since Quicken Loans moved its headquarters to downtown Detroit in 2010. The IT team helped the company close $140 billion in home loan volume in 2013-2014 while building a $167 billion mortgage servicing portfolio, making Quicken Loans the nation’s 10th largest servicer.

Tne way Quicken Loans fosters an atmosphere of innovation is through “Bullet Time,” a weekly four-hour period in which technology team members can work on any personal project or idea they want, even those outside the core business. Bullet Time continues to churn out innovations that significantly help team members and the business, including a conference room camera that gives those on a conference call a 360-degree view of the room in high definition.

Quicken Loans and its family of companies currently have 200 open technology positions. To learn more or apply, please visit www.quickenloanscareers.com.
