LANSING — The Lansing Economic Area Partnership’s New Economy Divison has been reorganized with the hiring of Grand Ledge-based GAIA LLC to provide business accleration services to startups.
LEAP officials said GAIA CEO Jerry Norris brings 22 years of business experience in quality engineering, software development and food safety management, in addition to operating high-tech companies throughout his career.
The two-year contract was funded by the Michigan Economic Development Corp.
GAIA — the name is an acronym for the Global Alliance of Independent Auditors — will be tasked with creating 28 new tech companies, 49 new jobs, as well as supporting the companies in securing $500,000 in follow-on funding investment.
“This is a great opportunity for my company and myself to share our business success and help build up other high-tech companies through this business acceleration contract with LEAP,” Norris said.
Norris is a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School who earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and statistics from the University of Michigan.
