Engineering SMArT Michigan: A Photo Gallery

SOUTHFIELD — More than 150 high school students participated Thursday in The Engineering Society of Detroit’s Engineering SMArT Michigan energy-efficient home design contest.

The event was held at Lawrence Technological University, which offered $30,000 scholarships to members of the top four finalist teams.

Volunteer judges who are engineers and architects spent Thursday morning winnowing the 17 participating teams down to the finalists, which gave detailed presentations ton a panel of judges Thursday afternoon.
