SOUTHFIELD — Thousands of jobs in engineering, technology, science and the skilled trades will be available next week at Michigan’s top high-tech job fair, The Engineering Society of Detroit’s annual Spring Engineering and Technology Job Fair.

The job fair will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 13 at the Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m.

More than 50 employers will be exhibiting at the Job Fair, offering more than 3,000 open positions. For jobseekers, the Job Fair promises hundreds of openings in all forms of engineering — biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, design, electrical, electronic, environmental and mechanical — along with openings in information technology, software, cybersecurity, defense, finance, human resources, manufacturing, sales, marketing and more.

Attending the Job Fair as a jobseeker is free for individual ESD members. Nonmembers pay $20. Registration includes a one-year membership to ESD. (This offer is good for new, first-time members only.) More at www.esd.org.

Job seekers are also encouraged to enter their resumes into the ESD Job Bank free of charge. Recognized as the premier recruitment resource for the industry, the Job Bank provides confidential resume posting and is easy to use. Simply add your resume online by visiting http://jobs.esd.org and create a password-protected account to manage your job search. A Job Bank enrollment center will also be available at the job fair to help job seekers input resumes on-site.

A few tables are also still available for employers. ESD is offering a Recruitment Booth Package for $395 for ESD members ($495 for nonmembers). It includes an 8-by-10-foot exhibit space with a 6-foot skirted and draped display table and two chairs; online promotion and a company description on the ESD website, http://www.esd.org; advertising to Michigan colleges and universities within 150 miles of metro Detroit; free wireless internet service; food and beverage certificates for up to five representatives at the booth; a company listing with desired areas of interest in the on-site handout guide provided to all attendees; and a free posting on the ESD Job Bank website, a $250 value.

Past ESD Job Fairs have been attended by hundreds of qualified engineering, IT, high-tech and skilled trades workers. Companies seeking employees at earlier ESD Job Fairs have praised the level of education, experience and qualifications of attendees.
