ANN ARBOR — XanEdu, the Ann Arbor-based provider of custom course materials, announced a new collaboration with Westchester, Ill.-based Follett Higher Education Group.
Under the deal, faculty at college and university campuses across the United States can use a new, streamlined process for creating and ordering custom course materials within Follett Discover, Follett’s proprietary course materials application comprised of the Faculty Discover and Student Discover tools.
Partnering with XanEdu, Follett created a direct portal from its Faculty Discover tool to XanEdu’s customization platform to deliver a better experience for educators exploring custom content.
Schools that have implemented Follett Discover empower educators to efficiently search, evaluate and order course materials, including publisher, Open Educational Resource and custom content. Through XanEdu’s self-service technology, educators can source, aggregate and order custom print and digital materials quickly. Faculty may select from XanEdu’s publisher-neutral library containing more than eight million licensed content items, request outside content using XanEdu’s development services and even upload original content.
The custom books built in XanEdu are instantly sent to Faculty Discover for the campus store to place an order. As course listings are updated in Faculty Discover, required course material information also becomes immediately available for students to view in the Student Discover tool.
