LANSING — The Pure Michigan Business Connect program is back with another event focused on its overall aim of encouraging Michigan businesses to trade with each other — in this case, in the agricultural industry.
The second annual Pure Michigan Agriculture Summit will be held March 19 at the DeVos Center in Grand Rapids.
The event, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and The Right Place Inc., the economic development agency for the Grand Rapids area, aims to connect Michigan growers and food processors with retailers and institutional buyers to strengthen Michigan’s food supply chain.
The event offers attendees the opportunity to meet one-on-one with food buyers who are looking to connect with Michigan companies to find qualified suppliers. In addition, buyers will have tables in the concourse area for on-the-spot appointments. Participating purchasers include Associated Food and Petroleum Dealers, Busch’s Fresh Food Market, Cherry Capital Foods, Fortune Fish Co., Garden Fresh Gourmet, Heeren Brothers, Lipari, Kroger, Marquette Food Cooperative, Meijer, Metro Health Hospital, Michigan International Speedway, Pearson Foods, Plumbs Supermarkets, SpartanNash, The Henry Ford, University of Michigan, Walmart, Whole Foods and more.

Each application will be reviewed and selections will be determined by participating teams based on the application. The priority deadline to apply is Feb. 22. Applications received after that date will only be considered if there are needs that have not been addressed through the initial application window.
Completing this application does not automatically confirm participation on March 19. All applicants will be informed whether or not they’ve been selected to participate on or before March 10.
