CLARKSTON — A newly merged auto dealership says it will use video camera and co-browsing technology to allow consumers to not just shop for cars online — but to actually buy them online.
Katie Bowman Coleman, owner of Bowman Chevrolet in Clarkston, and Sam Slaughter, owner of Sellers Buick-GMC in Farmington Hills, announced the merger of their dealerships as the Sellers Auto Group, based in Clarkston, as well as the new selling technology.
“Ninety-five percent of car buyers use the Internet when considering their next lease or purchase,” Bowman Coleman said. “We’ve created YourOnlineDealer.com for customers to not only shop more efficiently, but actually buy or lease online.”
YourOnlineDealer.com will deploy technology that enables visitors to work with a live “Auto Guide” using two-way video and co-browsing functionality to explore different makes and models, select interior and exterior colors, choose options, value their trade-in and ultimately, buy or lease — all online.
“We want our customers to have a choice,” Slaughter said. “They now have the option of visiting one of our four showrooms or going online to YourOnlineDealer.com to experience the same high level of service they would receive in our dealerships. It’s simple: buy what you want, how you want, at the price you want, whether it’s in the dealership or online.”
