Lacks’ Lightweight Composite Wheels Featured On 2015 Trucks

NOVI — Lacks Wheel Trim Systems LLC, a Novi-based business unit of Grand Rapids-based Lacks Enterprises, Inc., announced today that it has recently been awarded significant new business for its patented 20-inch Chromtec lightweight composite wheels for two light duty truck programs.

The wheels will be featured on the light duty trucks in 2015 and will be separately announced.

Derived from the Lacks’ eVOLVE fuel efficient wheel development program, these wheels will be the lightest 20-inch premium wheels offered on a high volume truck program and are made from a highly engineered, lightweight, composite wheel technology available only from Lacks Wheel Trim Systems.

“Our wheels provide a high-performing, lightweight design that is a perfect complement to the robust yet striking look and feel of these light duty trucks,” said James Ardern, director of business development for Lacks Wheel Trim Systems. “Other wheel technologies focus on either the finish or the construction separately. The key advantage of Lacks’ composite wheel technology is our ability to combine form and function with world-class finishes and real world light-weighting while not forcing the wheel to be down sized on a large truck. Our next generation of Chromtec wheels are class leading.”

Lacks Wheel Trim Systems serves Chrysler and General Motors among the domestic auto brands and Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Toyota and Volkswagen among the imports. Its wheel and metal finish brands include Chromtec, Metalltec, eVOLVE, Spinelle and Selective-Spinelle.

Founded in 1961, Lacks Enterprises provides thermoplastic design, injection molding, plating, painting, assembly, logistics and supply chain management. Lacks also provides global export and distribution capabilities. More at
