Truven Launches Employer Reporting System For Health Plans

ANN ARBOR — Truven Health Analytics announced the launch of a new Interactive Reporting system designed to improve communication and collaboration between health plans and their employer clients.

Interactive Reporting offers analytics that help health plans analyze account-specific data on cost, use, and quality. The analytics also demonstrate value by interpreting and sharing the results with their employer customers and third-party administrators. Employers can use this detailed information for financial planning, benefit design, and wellness program development and evaluation.

“Employers are spending more money on initiatives to battle rising healthcare costs, but in many cases they don’t know whether their efforts are working,” said Jennifer Huyck, vice president of analytics and consulting at Truven Health Analytics. “With our new Interactive Reporting solution, health plans can proactively give their employer customers the valuable intelligence they need for ongoing management and measurement of their programs and population.”

Truven says that using its analytics platform and data resources, the new Interactive Reporting system gives health plans the ability to engage in more interactive dialogue with employer groups, allowing them to view account-specific information by meaningful categories, such as business unit, location, and plan type.

The result is an informed decision-making process that provides employers with a tailored approach to employee benefits that fits their specific corporate needs.

“With more than 400 employer clients — including 40 percent of the Fortune 100 companies — we understand what information employers need,” said Barbara Graovac, senior vice president at Truven Health Analytics. “We’ve turned that experience into a powerful reporting tool that our health plan clients can use to provide accurate data and meaningful insights to their employer clients.”

Interactive Reporting is part of the Truven Health Advantage Suite platform, and uses the Truven Health MarketScan database, a market-leading benchmarking and research database that contains commercial claims data from more than 180 million individuals.
