SOUTHFIELD — It’s just a week until The Engineering Society of Detroit offers a members-only peek at TechShop, the maker’s playground in Allen Park.
Located next to the Detroit Lions headquarters and practice facility just off the Southfield Freeway’s Rotunda Drive exit, TechShop Detroit offers more than $3 million of technology for the aspiring inventor, tinkerer or maker for a small monthly fee.
Part fabrication and prototyping studio, part hackerspace and part learning center, TechShop provides access to advanced machines, including 3D printers, laser and water cutting tools; sophisticated 2D and 3D design software; and other professional equipment. They provide comprehensive instruction and expert staff to ensure a safe, meaningful and rewarding experience. Most importantly, at TechShop you can explore the world of making in a collaborative and creative environment.
