SOUTHFIELD — School is back in session, and your Engineering Society of Detroit is getting back into the swing of things with a variety of tours and other events designed to advance the current generation of engineers and technical professionals — and foster the next generation.
Here’s the rundown on a wide variety of events:
* ESD members can get a discount on the Career Development for Young Professionals Webcast Series, Thursdays starting Sept. 4 and ending Nov. 20, from 8 to 9 a.m. Presented by Transformational Leaders International, this event focuses on career development as an ongoing, constant process. Topics include vision planning, getting along with your boss, your personal brand, professional etiquette, communication etiquette, and defeating the technology demon. * ESD hosts the Innovative Orators Toastmaster Club every first and third Wednesday fro noon to 1 p.m. and every second and fourth Tuesday from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. ESD headquarters is at 20700 Civic Center Drive, Suite 450. * ESD will host its big Fall Engineering & Technology Job Fair Monday, Nov. 10 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.
